The Struggle is REAL

With each new day, brings a new obstacle that we will, at some point, have to face. While facing these obstacles we can do 1 of 2 things:
1. Give up and give in. Let these things get the best of us and just surrender. A lack of sleep, feeling a bit under the weather, a monthly visitor (ladies), or the fact that you ate McDonald's for lunch AND dinner yesterday are some reasons you may decided to put your workout on hold for the time being.
2. Use those obstacles as motivation. Life is not always easy nor will it ever go exactly as planned. You have to learn to roll with the punches! Don't let minor obstacles destroy everything you have been working towards, let them motivate you because you are capable of pushing past them!

Yeah, that McDonald's probably wasn't a good idea but if you workout extra hard everyday and continue to make GOOD food choice, you will be back on track before you know it! One day isn't going to unravel all the hard work you have put in, I promise!

I usually aim for at least 7 hours of sleep at night but I am usually only successful in doing that about twice a week. As you can guess, this makes for a tired Lindsey every morning when my alarm clock goes off. Believe it or not, the only thing that gives me the energy to get through a long day is a nice long workout. HELLO ENDORPHINS! Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. Those endorphins will give you a boost of energy that is more effective than an extra large cup of coffee.

Allergies getting the best of you this time of year? I hear ya! Excuse me while I wake up the whole house with a symphony of sneezes in the morning. An early morning workout will clear my nasal congestion faster then you can say Claritin D. Keep a tissue handy because that congestion has to go somewhere! Though it is not a permanent solution, you WILL make it through that workout.

Last but not least, and this is for all my ladies out there, that time of the month. While those cramps are enough to make you call off a day of work, I bring you good news. Physical activity is also a temporary cramp reliever! Just going for a walk will help to ease the pain so put on your walking shoes and grab a bottle of water. The combination of the walking and extra water intake will have you saying "What cramps!?"

These little obstacles are not excuses, they are just little bumps in the road that we have to learn to endure as they appear.

I would be lying if I said I didn't struggle every now and then with working out and eating healthy. I have learned to not allow my daily obstacles keep me from doing what I know will make me happy in the long run and neither should you!! I believe in you.
