Let's talk confidence.

You know that feeling you get when you are leaving the house with an amazing outfit on that makes you feel like you could take on the world with one hand tied behind your back? That's called confidence. I know the feeling and it is great! What if I told you that you could feel that way no matter what you had on? When you are confident with your body everything else (including a bomb outfit) is just an added bonus.

Confidence not only makes you feel better about yourself but it will make you a happier person in general. People will view you as more approachable and radiating positive energy like that is also very contagious! Now let me clarify something, being confident with you body does NOT mean being thin or a size 0. You have to love your body and work with what you got! But good news, there are so many things you can do for yourself to bring out that confidence and improve on little things that may be holding you back.

First off, you have to learn to make choices that will benefit you, not set you back. What do I mean by that? Next time you are hungry and are looking for a snack, pick up an apple instead of a bag of chips. You will still satisfy that hunger but wont feel guilty (or bloated) when you're finished. We have all been victims of over eating the wrong foods and thinking to ourselves "Well, there is no point in working out now!" Don't put yourself through that self defeat. Next, put down the remote or pause your DVR and take a walk around the block. If you have time to sit in front of the TV you most definitely have time to get a little exercise in!

When you decide to eat right and exercise you won't believe the confidence it will bring you. Why? Because only YOU can do that for yourself, no one else. You will start seeing results and feeling better which will motivate you to continue working harder. Once you start moving and eat better you will want to push yourself to see what your body can really do, that's how it started for me!

Get others involved! Weather it be a significant other, or your children, use one another as motivation. Phil and I love walking together. Having an hour alone with him without the interruption of cell phones or video games is simply amazing! We get to spend time together and do our bodies a favor by getting outside and moving around instead of just sitting on the couch :)

Want more for yourself! Don't give up and work for that confidence, you'll be surprised how easily it will come!
