Eating healthy and getting in shape is such a huge commitment. These things would be impossible without motivation and we all have different reasons for doing so. Finding that motivation can make all the difference in keeping us going and wanting to reach our goals without allowing obstacles get the best of us. Of course we all want to be in shape and eat right but to take it from a "want" to making it your lifestyle you need to find that spark within yourself.
Family, children, and significant others can be huge motivation to help us get into shape but some of us use those as our excuses instead.
I want to share my motivation for this lifestyle and hopefully some of you can relate and find the same motivation strong enough to take that first step!
My #1 reason is because I CAN. For so long I have struggled with my health, whether it be medical reasons or just pure laziness. I can remember being in high school and simply not caring about my health and only caring about going out with friends and eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. At that point I was oblivious, and it is no wonder to me now why I weighed 30 pounds more then I do currently. One day I really looked in the mirror and said "OH CRAP" when I realized what I had done to myself and from that point on I was a bit more conscious of what I was putting into my body.
Fast forward to about a year and a half ago. Though I was no longer over weight like I had been, I was still far from healthy. At this time I stared having real issues with my stomach and started seeking medical help. After being sick and unable to eat any kind of real food for about 4+ months and getting down to my lowest weight ever, about 106, it came time for my gallbladder to be removed. I had many tests done and found it was not functioning properly. After surgery and only having minor improvements to how I was feeling, I was still far from feeling 'normal'. Back to the doctors I went and after a couple months I made the change and went GF. I am now a healthy 110 pounds and will only continue to gain in the right way! I feel amazing and found the key to keeping it that way.
As for a little extra boost of motivation I have my wedding to look forward too!! I want to be healthy and confident on my big day and feel 100%!
Being able to finally be in control of the way I feel is what drives me to continue this lifestyle. It was not until I had NO control over my body did I realize how I had taken for granted my health and the way I felt.
What is your motivation to take the first step? I would love to help you and be a part of keeping that motivation in you to become healthy and reach your goals!!
